Over our extended break, my sister decided to donate her book collection to the high school. I think she was really looking for a way to make me do the work in cleaning our her movie room. Alas, I scored some awesome books for our collection for free - I can't complain too much!
One of my sister's favorite authors is John Grisham. He has written over 30 books in his career, and every single one has become an international bestseller. Best part is he is from Jonesboro, Arkansas - so we can just add him to our list of famous Arkansans.
Most of Grisham's book have a "law & order" theme. If you like court cases and murder mysteries, this is the author for you! This blog post highlights *some* of the amazing books we have by John Grisham in our collection!

The scene is set when a jury finds a chemical company guilty of dumping toxic waste into the local town water source, causing the worst "cancer cluster" in history.
The chemical company appeals the verdict which means the 9 Supreme Court Justices of Mississippi will decide the fate of the chemical company and their victims.
In order to ensure a decision in his favor, the company's owner - Carl Trudeau - decides to buy himself a seat on the Court. Will he be successful? Can the system that is supposed to be above unlawfulness withstand the money of a billionaire?
The conspiracies and deceit are only beginning.

The setting for his nail-biter is Mississippi in 1970. Willie Traynor, a young up and coming newspaper owner, reports every gruesome and terrible detail of a young mother that was brutally raped and murdered.
It was no secret who the murderer was - Danny Padgitt. He was tried and quickly found guilty, even though he threatened revenge on the whole jury if they convicted him. Padgitt was sentenced to life in prison for his crime.
But in 1970, a life sentence doesn't necessarily mean for life. Padgitt was released after just 9 years and returned to that small Mississippi town to exact his revenge.

A father on his deathbed, a brother that seems to make all the wrong choices on purpose, and a law professor that just wishes to avoid them both.
This is how I would describe the Atlee family. Trying to keep their distance from each other until the father - a retired Judge - summons his two sons to their old family home to discuss the details of their inheritance.
Unfortunately, the Judge passes away before the sons can arrive, leaving behind a shocking secret that will forever change the course of the brothers' lives.

A self-made billionaire - one of the richest men in the US - is looking for a way to escape his reclusive and confining life.
A lawyer just out of rehab for the fourth time and with a marriage in shambles needs to return to the real world, but he's lived too hard and too fast for too long to make that easy.
A young woman walked away from the modern world with all of its luxuries and trappings to devote her time to God by working with a primitive tribe of Indians in the deep jungle of Brazil.
What could these three individuals possibly have in common? The secret of The Testament will bring these three together in a way they never would have imagined.
