A massive - and I mean MASSIVE - book order has come in. I am slowly getting them all entered into our system, but this a great time to highlight some of the great new additions we have! This week's post focuses on new series we have added - so the following books are all Book One in their respective series.

In the spirit of Halloween (HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!), our first book is a spooooooooky thriller! How to Hang a Witch by Adriana Mather follows the story of Samantha Mather, a teenager who moves to Salem, Massachusetts. That wouldn't be newsworthy, except Sam is the descendant of Cotton Mathew, one of the men who led the Salem Witch Trials.
Sam finds herself at odds with a group of girls who call themselves "The Descendants" because, well, they're descendants of the women accused of being witches and murdered for fake crimes. Sam is struggling enough as it is with The Descendants, but then a very real - and very angry - ghost starts haunting her. Now Sam must work with the girls who are out to get her in order to stop this deadly curse.

Omega City is the first book in a series titled, well, "Omega City." Written by Diana Peterfreund, Omega City is a thrilling adventure that follows a group of kids on a journey to prove that Dr. Aloysius Underberg created high tech technology during the Cold War that has been - supposedly- lost forever.
Gillian and her friends find a space-themed riddle that jump start their journey which takes them to Omega City, a doomsday bunker buried deep in the earth. They know the answers to their search for technology are in this bunker, but someone - or something - is just as determined to keep the technology hidden forever.

In a world where humanity has ended hunger, disease, war, and even death, life is perfect and could go on forever. That is the world that Scythe - book one in the series Arc of a Scythe - is set in. Because humanity has overcome all obstacles, including misery, the only way to die is to be killed by a Scythe.
The job of a Scythe is simple: when commanded to do so, end the life of your assigned person in order to keep the population size in check. Simple enough.
But when Citra and Rowan are told to apprentice under a Scythe in order to one day be the person who kills, they struggle with the "art" of taking a life. Refusal to accept the full responsibility of their job could mean in end of their own life.

We've had books two and three of this series for several years; however, for reasons that make no sense, we now have book one in "The Montmaray Journals" series!
The journal is written by Sophie FitzOsborne, a royal living in a castle on a beautiful island in 1936....well, a poor royal living in a crumbling castle on a secluded island. She writes about day-to-day life in Montmaray, her kingdom and home. She also writes about this world war she is starting to hear about. The war seems so far away, until one day two German soldiers accidentally land a boat on the shores of Montmaray. Now the war is closer than ever and her way of life is going to change forever.
All of these books are ready to check out! I know you will be instantly hooked with any of these choices, and the rest of the series will be waiting for you when you're finished!
